WINEMAKER’S NOTES
HARVEST 2007

December 14, 2007
Morning ya’ll. I apologize for missing last weeks mailing. A lot has happened in the past two weeks, where to begin? Well, I had several people able to come by the winery for a tour and a bit of a tasting. It is great to have everyone visit and get a closer connection to where some of the magic happens. For those of you that are still interested in visiting the winery I will be setting other dates to do so in the New Year. I would like to thank everyone that was able to make the visit!
There has been a lot going on in the vineyard in the past two weeks. The guys have been busy pruning the vineyard. In my opinion this is where winemaking really begins. Wojtek and the guys are making the important decisions that will help shape wine quality for the upcoming year. Pruning happens during the toughest time of the year. The high quality cold weather gear that they have really does help with the temperatures.

The tasting room has been a buzz with holiday gift baskets. The Season is undoubtedly here! While Christine and Gina have been working diligently in the “workshop”, Rudy and Dan have been busy seeing that Holiday gift baskets reach their destinations. “You know those Bernhardt's…”

Matt Gabriel has been working diligently putting finishing touches on new label designs. We have some great new packaging ideas for some great wines that will be coming out. Two wines from the 2007 vintage will be hitting shelves before the New Year. These two wines are the 2007 Rose’ (“Pup-Pup”) and 2007 Glaciers End White.

The winery has been busy with bottling the Rose’ and we anticipate an immediate release. The most incredible thing about these wines is that a few months ago these grapes were hanging out on the vine. The guys and gals at the winery have really done a great job in helping this get to bottle so quickly. Cheers to them!

Cheers,
Juan Eduardo Micieli-Martinez – Winemaker
